Spill Ambassador Program — FTC Disclosure Policy & Code of Conduct
Document Version: 1.0 Effective Date: June 30, 2026
This FTC Disclosure Policy & Code of Conduct is part of, and incorporated into, the Spill Ambassador Program Agreement between you and Spill App, Inc. ("Spill"). By checking "I agree" at sign-up, you accept and agree to follow it every time you post about Spill.
1. Why This Matters
As a Spill Ambassador, you have a material connection to Spill — you are part of our Program and may earn prizes based on your performance. U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules require that this connection be clearly and conspicuously disclosed whenever you post content that promotes Spill. Failure to disclose can create legal liability for you and for Spill.
2. Your Disclosure Obligations
Whenever you post, repost, share, or otherwise publish content that promotes Spill, you must clearly disclose that you are a Spill Ambassador. Follow these rules:
- Be clear and conspicuous. The disclosure must be hard to miss — placed where viewers will actually see it, in plain language, before the "more" cut-off, and not buried in a string of other hashtags or at the bottom of a long caption.
- Use a clear disclosure. Use #SpillAmbassador together with #ad (for example, "#SpillAmbassador #ad"), or clear wording such as "I'm a Spill Ambassador."
- Match the platform and format. For video, include a verbal and on-screen disclosure; for images/stories, place the disclosure on the image/story itself, not only in metadata; for live streams, repeat the disclosure periodically.
- Make it understandable. Avoid vague terms like "thanks," "collab," "sp," or "ambsdr" alone. Disclose in the same language as your post.
- Don't rely on platform tools alone. A platform's built-in "paid partnership" label may not be sufficient on its own — include your own clear disclosure too.
3. Honesty Rules
- Tell the truth. Only make claims about Spill that are truthful and that you actually believe. Do not make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims (for example, about features, results, or what the app does).
- No fake engagement. Do not buy, fake, or incentivize fake sign-ups, downloads, reviews, followers, or engagement.
- Only authorized claims. Do not promise rewards, features, or terms on Spill's behalf beyond what Spill has authorized in writing.
4. Code of Conduct
As a Spill Ambassador, you agree to:
- Keep it positive and respectful. Help keep the community honest, fun, and free of harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, or discrimination.
- Represent the brand well. Do not defame, disparage, or post content that tarnishes Spill's reputation.
- Respect others. Do not post unlawful, obscene, infringing, or privacy-violating content, and do not post about identifiable people without their consent.
- No spam. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages or use bots/automation.
- Follow the rules. Comply with all applicable laws, platform terms, the Ambassador Program Agreement, and these guidelines.
5. Consequences
Violating this policy may result in removal of content, disqualification of referrals, forfeiture of prizes, and/or termination of your participation in the Program, in Spill's sole discretion, and may expose you to legal liability for which you are solely responsible.
6. Questions
If you are unsure whether or how to disclose, ask us first at hello@thespillapp.com before posting.
